Goals of Horticulture College

    1. To develop competent horticulture professionals through academic excellence and practical exposure.
    2. To promote innovation and research in horticultural sciences for solving real-world agricultural and environmental challenges.
    3. To enhance rural livelihoods by transferring improved horticultural technologies and practices to farmers and entrepreneurs.
    4. To contribute to food, nutritional, and economic security through sustainable horticultural production systems.
    5. To collaborate with national and international institutions for capacity building and knowledge sharing in horticulture.

Objectives of Horticulture College

  
Educational Objectives:
  • Offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in horticulture and allied sciences.
  • Ensure hands-on training and field experience through student READY (Rural Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana) and internships.
  • Foster critical thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurship in students.
  
Research Objectives:
  • Undertake need-based and location-specific research in fruit, vegetable, floriculture, medicinal, and spice crops.
  • Cultivate new horticultural varieties, technologies, and sustainable production methods.
  • Promote climate-resilient and resource-efficient horticulture practices.
  
Extension Objectives:
  • Transfer research findings and modern techniques to farmers and horticulture-based industries.
  • Conduct training programs, demonstrations, field visits, and exhibitions for skill development.
  • Serve as a knowledge hub for farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, and horticulture officers.
